About KAYA
KAYA is a new and innovative band, pushing the boundaries of contemporary and popular music.
They play original material with catchy, melodic, sharp and generally joyful songs, designed to lift the audience's spirits, interspersed with classic covers.
The lyrical content moves from light hearted to deeply philosophical. Joe Mishra, the song writer has been creatively writing for over 10 years and the songs are based on real life events and emotions. He has a smooth melodic vocal style.
After KAYA's successful performance at the York International Festival, they were booked into the fantastic live venue of the Victoria Vaults, from which they were asked to perform their ORIGINAL material at a wedding reception. They have recently performed a highly successful gig along with the Pocklington Theatre company. They will be playing several other York venues before gigging nationally.
